December 2025 Finance Update

Dear friends,

At this time of year, when there are so many voices vying for our attention, so many responsibilities to be fulfilled, and needs for us to spend and gift and give, we are called to remember that it is all in the name of celebrating the season and honoring the most noble of intentions: those of hope and love and joy.

Because of your generosity and faith in The Local Church’s mission, we have made tremendous strides these past few weeks, significantly narrowing the gap between the needs of the church and our community and the resources available to meet them. Thank you to those of you who have helped us close this gap! A final push in these last weeks of the year will keep us on track and begin the year in a strong position.

As John Wesley said, “(money is) an excellent gift of God, answering the noblest ends…it is food for the hungry, drink for the thirsty….a defense for the oppressed, a means of health to the sick, of ease to them that are in pain...”

At The Local Church, we honor every gift—of all sizes —with the sincerity of that charge. We know times are very difficult for many people, and we are there for them as much and in as many ways as we can.

In this season, I am reminded of a conversation I had with a dear friend regarding our needs and her and her husband’s faith in giving, in which she had said, “We took a leap of faith 28 years ago and decided to tithe. We have both felt such peace in knowing that God will provide what we need, and it has been a blessing to give back the firstfruits God has given us. That sense of peace and blessing is part of the reason we encourage others to do the same.”

For some, this too may be a leap of faith, and for them and for all who find it in their hearts to give, we wish you the peace and many blessings that come with giving back the firstfruits God has given us. You are the ones who empower this work, and we thank God for whatever you can do. If you have questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to me.

Give to The Local Church

Sincerely,
Jack McCausland
