Showing Up & Staying Cool: The Chatham Heat Relief Drive
As temperatures rise, so does the risk for our neighbors who are most vulnerable to extreme heat. We’re launching a pilot effort as part of the Chatham Heat Action Plan to provide emergency heat relief supplies to community members in need—and we can’t do it without you.
We are currently collecting donations of essential heat safety items, including:
Bottled water and electrolyte drinks
Cooling towels and cold packs
Portable fans (battery-operated preferred)
Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
Hats and lightweight clothing
Reusable water bottles
Non-perishable, ready-to-eat snacks
All donated items will be distributed directly to those in need at The Local Church's Evergreen Campus, helping ensure our community stays safe, hydrated, and supported during extreme heat events.
This is more than a donation drive—it’s neighbors showing up for neighbors. Every item you give could make a real difference for someone facing dangerous heat conditions.
If you’re able to contribute, we invite you to join us in building a safer, more resilient Chatham County. Donations may be offered on Sunday mornings or dropped off at Evergreen.
